Introduction to Traditional Ukrainian Embroidery

DESCRIPTION
In this workshop, Instructor Myroslava will guide the beginner to several simple stitches and small projects with her signature ease and charm to make the craft as accessible as possible. 
You'll learn several different stitches and learn to follow patterns and plan your work, plus have access to hundreds of patterns and tips. Welcoming and relaxed environment- It'll be fun!

All materials will be included, but you are encouraged to bring your own needle, and kit if you have one (scissors, hoop, etc.).
You will receive handouts, and work on organic linen and cotton with cotton DMC embroidery floss to make several pieces in various styles. 
You will also be directed where to buy authentic wool yarns and cotton floss for your own future projects, and you can ask her about purchasing handspun and handwoven linens from Ukraine, which she can supply.

ABOUT YOUR INSTRUCTOR
Myroslava is from Ukraine is an expert in authentic old methods of Ukrainian embroidery and cloth-making. She worked for years restoring and cataloguing antique textiles in the Carpathian region of Ukraine, where she is from, and has produced many stunning embroidered blouses based on centuries old authentic techniques, including commissioned works, and clothing for herself and her family.
